THE PILE DWELLING VILLAGE:
As in the past, this pile dwelling village stretches out onto the water: if you listen carefully you can almost hear the sounds of the pirogues slowly trading through the water, admist fen birds and swamp reeds, one paddle stroke after another.

Built upon a raised platform supported by piles set in the lake botton just as it was done 4000 years ago for defensive purposes, in its middle it boasts the true heart of the village life: the hearth. |
